New Study Says 8% of Men and 7% of Women are Gay or Bisexual

The National Survey of Sexual Health and Behavior, recently published their huge new sex study in a special issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine. The study is the first study of sexual behavior in the United States since the 1992 National Health and Social Life Survey. Interviews were conducted with over 6,000 subjects between the age of 14 and 94, all living in the United States.

8% of men and 7% of women identified themselves as homosexual. What was most fascinating was the number of people who had had gay sexual experiences. Nearly 15% of women in their 30s reported having performed oral sex on another woman at least once in their lifetime, while 13% of men over 40 said they had done the same to another man and 50% of men aged 50-59 said they had received it.

The studies were supported by Church & Dwight, which makes Trojan brand condoms.
